Gerard Battle
Violin/Viola/Cello​

​Gerard A. Battle is a professional violist and native of Washington, D.C. He has studied at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Levine School of Music, Washington Performing Arts Society, Interlochen Center for the Arts and received his bachelor's degree in Music/Viola Performance at the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts.

He also received his master's degree in Education at Walden University. Mr. Battle has studied with Phyllis Fleming, Eddie Drennon, Ulrich Eichenauer and more. Mr. Battle is also a distinguished music educator who has been teaching general and instrumental music for 15 years at Early Childhood Academy PCS in Washington, D.C and is the former Viola Instructor for the DC Youth Orchestra Program. He has been teaching violin, viola, and cello through private instruction for 17 years.

As a professional violist, Mr. Battle has performed at many venues such as the White House, Lincoln Theater, Kennedy Center and more. He has performed with artists such as Patti Labelle, James Ingraham, Clark Sisters, Donnie McClurkin and more. Mr. Battle is an active professional violist who performs at events throughout the DMV area.
